A place for my photos and thoughts and stuff.

…that September is here already.

Always wanted to know what it looked like on the other side of this.

So now I know. Impressed that it has water in it in the summertime.

Very dystopian looking if you ask me.

Although this bird found it acceptable.

No birds. Although there was a jumping fish that I never managed to get a photo of.

No birds. Although there were some butterflies that I never managed to get a photo of, because they wouldn’t hold still.

There was this guy, though. A side-blotched lizard, which I’ve never seen before. They are quite territorial, and he kindly escorted me out of the area.

Some day I’ll take the walk to the mesa. But you can bet it won’t be in August.

Scurrying, creeping critters beware, the Coopers are in town!

I’m always creeped out a little by dragonflies at first, and then, the more I look at them, amazed by how wonderfully strange and beautiful they are. I do appreciate the fact that this guy was kind enough to wave for the camera.

We never had these guys around when I was growing up. Sure happy they’re here now!

I cannot get enough of these cuties.

Anna’s hummingbird babies. Not a great photo, but I never got too close to them because I didn’t want them disturbed. They got fat. They fledged. Circle of Life!

Thanks a lot truck and trailer hitch.

Thanks a lot ugly utility wires and ugly brown stucco.

Thanks a lot weeds, inconvenient shadows, and ugly tarp and graffiti.

OK, I got the heron flying, but never all of him in one shot

*Almost.*

Flowers, greenery, and a full lake!

A wholesome family outing.

A popular photo spot. Probably trampled flat by the end of the week by people taking graduation, wedding, etc. photos.

One of my favorite trees. It takes the path of least resistance.

Relaxation.

It’s beautiful to see the lake full again. It’s a natural lake so it’s a good drought measurer.

Beautiful park, beautiful clouds.
