It was a day of surprise rain, and it was capped off with a surprise rainbow.
A place for my photos and thoughts and stuff.

It was a day of surprise rain, and it was capped off with a surprise rainbow.

Actually, there is. It’s called “summer.”

I went to an estate sale in a nearby neighborhood.

There are two ways to look at them. It’s either sad to see a house once happily occupied empty and disheveled, and a deceased person’s things greedily pawed through, or it’s comforting to see a home that was obviously well-loved for a long time, and the things they once used ready to be useful or cherished by another.

I choose the second option.

Nothing like being freed from the clutches of the marauding honeysuckle next to it to make it happy. The catch: only one rose at a time.

…to celebrate 6 months of surviving Josie!

A lost cause in California? Maybe, but hope springs eternal!

Jo proved to be completely unconcerned with the fireworks. This means I actually enjoyed the 4th for the first time in 13 years!

…it looked straight through my soul.

They’re not kidding. They’ve got elk! More than one!

One of the backyard alligator lizards. They’re creepy enough when they’re not scaling the screen door like some nightmarish hellspawn.
For those who don’t creep out easily…
**Shudder.**
