A place for my photos and thoughts and stuff.

…with a photobomb by that thing it’s named for.

Nothing like being freed from the clutches of the marauding honeysuckle next to it to make it happy. The catch: only one rose at a time.

Thanks, neighbor George, for the seeds. A couple of decades later, we’re still enjoying the descendants of those first flowers.

He usually has clothes on. That’s why he looks so embarrassed.

The pig’s forehead is a favorite sunning spot for lizards.

The Garden Guardian is never off duty.

It’s our little Alfie in garden critter form.

Jo has a lot of company.

She’s in there, planning shenanigans.

We had like, one gladiola this year, but it was a pretty one.

After a few years…a fire orchid!

The lilies were kind of paltry this year, but we had some nice one.

We had some butterfly bush blooms, but no monarchs this year that I can remember.

The nasturtiums were basically indestructible.

Old standbys: marigolds and snapdragons. It was a great year for snapdragons.

The black-eyed susan vines went nuts.

The daisies are always cheerful.

The normally wimpy white roses were gorgeous.
All in all, not bad!

The roses have been very pretty…

Especially this one.

The lilies were rather sparse…

But the ones that showed up were beautiful.
Next year will be better.

The garden was full of good cheer…

Thank goodness for the nasturtiums…

…and a rose here and there…

…and the daisies always put on a good show…

We’ve pulled out so much and put up fences and netting in so many places to protect puppy and plants from one another. It’s kind of depressing. But there’s still some flowers around…

Freesia. On a table to protect it from she-who-shall-not-be-named.

Geraniums still going strong after decades…

Daisy with a cute little bug on it…

The rosemary is blooming.

The Meyer lemon is putting out some sweet-smelling blossoms!

The old reliable clivia bursting forth. These are now behind a Josie-proof fence. Our yard is truly turned into something like a zoo for suburban plants.
A hat-tip to these brave hangers-on!
