Killing time by admiring the landscaping.

Why do I always show up way too early to these things?
A place for my photos and thoughts and stuff.
Killing time by admiring the landscaping.

Sunflowers
Gladiolas
Another type of gladiola…I love the color
Yet another glad
Cactus dahlia
Black-eyed susan vine, blush variation
Marigold
Balsam
Fuschia
Milkweed
Daisy
Cosmos
How could I have missed the Wiener Nationals! It’s the greatest show on earth!
Past the stands for the first time.
And #2 takes them wire-to-wire!
I love this corny mural at the entrance to the indoor paddock.
Longest home stretch in the United States.
Another goofy mural by someone who may have glimpsed a horse at one time and is painting from memory.
This guy looks…concerned.
None of these are mine. I tossed them in the trash like a responsible horse player.
…a beautiful and relaxing place.
I love the extensive of indoor water features. And this spiral walkway is the bomb.
And all of the indoor plantings are wonderful…look at this crazy-huge fiddle plant!
It’s very open and very airy and I love it. It’s a wonderful place to spend the afternoon.
It won’t be this empty for long…
I cannot get enough of these cuties.
I went with Touchdown Kittle. But seeming no-hoper McGregor Lake got the job done and paid more than $60.
Touchdown Kittle ladies and gents.
Every one of these people thinks they know who is going to win. Very few were correct.
Here’s Touchdown Kittle in the lead, just before being passed by a half dozen other horses.
Still, it was a great day. Here is a video I made, complete dramatic music to compensate for the unspectacular photos and camera work!
Black-eyed susan vine
Daisy and friend
Yellow yarrow
Cactus dahlia…from seeds yet!
Bachelor’s buttons still going strong
Snapdragons
The last of the nasturtiums
Coneflower
Mandevilla
Sunflower
Colors not amplified, I promise.
Like a painting! One of the best of the year so far.
Not a good picture but the only birds I saw that day.
Cute little flowers growing in the gravel.
No fish, rays, or jellyfish either.
See? No birds.
Lots of nice flowers though.
Sometimes the wildflowers are enough.
