…until I remember that time that I saw an older gent getting his sail ready, and a gust of wind came up, and dragged him on his face across the beach and through the shallows.
I laughed until my sides hurt. Good times!

Plus they sell old school candy sticks and licorice button assortments. What else could you ask?
That’s the official name of the statue. But no one calls it that. It’s just “naked surfer” or “nude dude.” Both of which are far more apt titles.

I had to look this up this tree…it’s called a golden medallion tree. Beautiful!

I’m always up for some weird cloud action.
No birds. Although there was a jumping fish that I never managed to get a photo of.

There was this guy, though. A side-blotched lizard, which I’ve never seen before. They are quite territorial, and he kindly escorted me out of the area.
Some day I’ll take the walk to the mesa. But you can bet it won’t be in August.
Hint: it’s the name of a tree.
I’m always creeped out a little by dragonflies at first, and then, the more I look at them, amazed by how wonderfully strange and beautiful they are. I do appreciate the fact that this guy was kind enough to wave for the camera.
